This CPD gives an overview of pitched roof design considerations and regulations in the UK and Ireland, along with discussing the type of construction membranes used as pitched roof underlays and the effect their performance has on design. It also discusses the implications of hygrothermal focussed roof design on the overall building energy performance.
Please note: this event could contribute towards the ARB’s 2024 mandatory requirement for CPD on ‘Environmental Sustainability’

Understanding of roof-types outlined in BS 5250:2021 Code of Practice
Recognition of different roof-types and associated hygrothermal strategies
Understanding of pitched roof underlay types
Appreciation of the effects of membrane properties on design requirements
