RIAS CPD: Certification of Design (Section 6 - Energy) CPD Category Introduction and Q&A

Thursday 3 October 2024, 12:30 – 13:30 (online)

Event Description:

Later this year, www.RIAS-regs.co.uk is excited to be launching a new domestic CPD category of membership offering all members of RIAS, RIBA, CIAT, CIBSE access to 12 hours of affordable training modules, learning material and on-line tests.

This extension to the existing scheme is supported within the Scottish Government and designed to help architects and construction professionals understand the current requirements contained within Section 6 – Energy of the Technical Standards.

Led by co-founder of RIAS-Regs, Dr Richard Atkins RIBA, FRIAS, FRSA, this session will provide a live demonstration of the competencies required as well as an opportunity for Q&A.

Applicants who complete the on-line tests won’t need to resit them again when applying to becoming an Approved Certifier of Design.

Benefits of becoming an Approved Certifier of Design:

  • Stay in control of the energy performance of your designs whether small or large scale, to existing or new buildings

  • Offer an additional service to clients, delivering a quicker warrant process and reduced warrant fees

  • Stay updated with changes to regulation including the new Scottish Passivhaus Equivalent Standard

In anticipation of the launch, we asked Christine Palmer to discuss the benefits of becoming an Approved Certifier of Design. You can read the full blog and list of benefits here.
