In this session, we welcome Gareth Black, Façades Sales Manager at Cosentino, as he introduces Dekton, a carbon-neutral, ultra-compact porcelain surface with an optimised manufacturing process and potential application in Ventilated Facades, Flooring, Internal Cladding and Work Surfaces.
What will be covered:
Introduction of ultra-compact surfaces as a material and its composition and use in architecture and design.
Insight into manufacturing processes, it’s characteristics and considerations when specifying this material - a carbon neutral, Fire resistant, UV stable and Anti-graffiti facade product.
Discussion into general areas of application: Ventilated Facades, Flooring, Internal Cladding and Work Surfaces and what to watch out for.
Please note this could contribute towards the ARB 2024 mandatory requirement for CPD on ‘Fire and Life Safety’ and ‘Environmental Sustainability’.
About the speaker:
Gareth Black, Façades Sales Manager - Ireland & Scotland, Cosentino
Gareth has recently joined Cosentino to lead the Façade business in Ireland and Scotland. He has over 25 years experience in the façade industry and has been widely involved in both specification and installation roles in this time, working with both architects and main contractors on a number of high profile projects. In this new role he will highlight the sustainability and aesthetic quality of the Cosentino façade offering to relevant stakeholders. He has an MSc in Façade Engineering and a MBA.
